Was walking today on Garryvoe beach and came across an unfortunate dead seal. The seal was freshly dead as it wasn't smelling and his skin and whiskers are completely in tact..... Well, except for the large hole in the seal. Anyone any ideas what could have caused this injury?

The birds and crabs would be picking the seal clean at every opportunity.

About 2 years ago i came across the same thing.......... my dog decided she loved the smell and rubbed herself off it

The windows were down in the car the whole way home.
