that looks very cheap alright but its not draper. unless its a rebanded something else. want the same size one as this is with a bog box of sockets so want the ones that fits into its place in the box.

your best bet maybe to transfer all the sockets into one of those spurious boxes, that we call buckets around here. then just buy any sort of a ratchet that fits and alls hunky dory.

I quite like Teng Tools stuff, they have stood up to abuse from me. Also, they sell ratchet repair kits for their ratchets.
The Ratchet sets, in a plastic case, are much, much cheaper than buying individual pieces.

im not sure but the knob for changing direction now falls out and doesnt work when put back end. think i well weld that one up and have it solid and just buy a new one.

what size of rachet is it .5" or .75" if its one of them and its a draper brand throw it in the bin and just get a new one there not expensive and save yourself the bother of trying to fix it

You put some pressure on for that to happen there is a flat circlip holding it in, did you ever head of hitting the nut a thump to help break the bond. Sounds like the housing has expanded just throw in the bin and buy a new one

I have a similar 1 , fell on the bench and landed in bits, they are only flash welded together

in defence of draper I've a set for 10 years now and have abused it thoroughly and the only things wrong are one of the hinges is broken on the case and one of the extension bars has mushroomed on the end (from the time I used it as a punch to drive out a seized bolt. repeated sledging is bad, real bad)

gave up that years ago, T bars are a pain in the ass to use.

    got a 3/4 set, and a 3/4 to 1/2 adapter.

the 3/4 ratchet is as long as the 1/2 inch breaker bar, put a pipe on it for the real tough stuff.

much handier than a T bar.

Have the 3/4 T bar for real extreme situations. Had 23 stone hanging out of a 6 foot pipe on that once. split the socket, but didnt bend the bar.

Tis some unbranded chinese set, and the sockets are a bit crap, but the ratchet and T bar are really taking the abuse.

the oul boy made up a cranking bar out of a drive shaft - just left an inch square on the end with the grinder to fit impact sockets to. and its some job for whipping off wheel nuts etc that the air gun wont budge. make one up for the guntering n u wont bust the next ratchet
