hi i was wondering if anyone can help me.

today by mistake i was tryin to unlock my 00 ford fiesta with my husbands car key, and now anytime we open any of the doors the hazard lights flash for about 2 mins and then go off by themselves.

can anyone tell me how i can get them to stop coming on ?

    thanks

Sounds like you have done something to the alarm. Get your keys, lock the car up and double lock as well. This will put the alarm on. Hopefully this will reset it.

thanks for the reply , how would i double lock the car? i have to unlock and lock the car by insterting the key into the doors.

If your key is the remote type, press the lock button twice. If it is not, put the key in the door lock, while the car is unlocked, twist the key in the unlock direct and then to the lock direction. The hazards may flash once to let you know it is locked. FYI the double lock on Fords mean the car cannot be opened with out the key, even if someone smashed the window and tries the door handle from the inside, more a deadlock than a double lock.

disconnecting it is the same as disconnecting the battery. It gets no power.
