    Our birds arrived today from England some lovely birds good strong 1's nice tails on them for reared birds

    Couple of hundred cocks no hens,plenty hens around I think we got them this year for €7:50 a bird from England very lively birds

    got a few from scotland today nice birds......how do u find bird quantities at start of season do u have many casualties by then ..

    If the birds are being brought over from England or Scotland the lads don't charge for bringing them over just charge for the birds
    They wouldn't just have 100 birds you ordered
    Probably a lot more for other clubs around would they?

    yes they bring birds for a lot of diff clubs and private buys....

    Yes no shipping costs,I wasnt therewhen the lads picked them up in Kk but they said there was other clubs there getting birds aswell,seemingly 1 bird got loose and flew straight into Nolan park last year we got a hundred birds an say only about 10 were shot by club members but there is still sum of them birds around

    Thats a lot of money per Bird as a Club we get them later in the year as 12 week old poults and do the rest ourselves but nice looking Birds best of Luck this coming season.

    You'ld want to be very careful getting birds in from the UK.

    A lot of them come from game farms where they have been overwintered in sheds, they are late season birds (hatched in august) which were too young to be sold to shoots for October.

    After the shooting season is over the birds are graded, some of the birds for breeding are kept the rest are shipped off to ireland in lorries to be sold to the gunclubs.

    They probably look alright but they don't know how to roost, can't forage for themselves and have never been outdoors.
