Anyone having problem with rabbits not bolting? They seem to be sticking to ground
I was out yesterday and today and only rabbit I got was poor ba5tard that ran out in front of the car . Not good!!
I can hear them moving about underground being chased but not bolting and I'm starting to think are they might mating and either pregnant or have kits already because il have to stop ferreting if they are
Not doing anything wrong. I'm staying quiet when approaching the burrows and not moving about too much
    Could they be breeding already.??

I did see fur outside come to think of it and I just assumed it was bucks fighting
Never knew about the females doing that

its time to stop ferreting now, nests are made young are born.give them a chance to multiply, they are scarce enough as it is.

    Il be stopping now
Just last year it was April when I seen kits about and stopped
    So it's early
I know a lad in England that caught a rabbit with his redtail in end of January and she had kits inside her so they are getting earlier now
It hasn't been really cold or raining much so maybe weather is changing them
The old expression mad as March hare about males hares boxing in breeding season
Are there leverets about or has anyone seen any about
It's be interesting to know the change in weather an effects it has on breeding
Are pheasant clutchs appearing earlier does anyone know?

I seen a small leveret or a very small(possibly sick) hare just last week found it really strange it's way too early. I also gave a friend a few wild mallard last year and 1 of the ducks is sitting on a nest of 14 eggs for the last week or so. I taught this very early too? they normally don't breed for another while usually. It must be the mild weather
