Whim Creek Shares

I came across a number of shares that belonged to my grandparents and my mother. They are in a company called Whim Creek Mine NL, and were dated from 1984. I've tried to google the shares, but all I get back is the the mine itself has been bought and sold a number of times since then, most recently in 2009/10.

What I am trying to figure out is if the original shares are still worth anything? Does anybody know where I can search for the information? e.g. were they transfered to the new companies, or did they go bust?

    Many thanks.

I believe the cert should have a registrars name. The registrar should be able to trace the company for you.
