I am planning to knock down the partition wall between a kitchen and a dining room. There are two radiators at the moment. One in the kitchen and one in the dining room. They are in the same wall, the one which I am knocking, in each side.

I was thinking about putting only one vertical radiator but I am not sure if it would be enough to heat up the whole area and not leave cold patches.

What are your thoughts and suggestions for this job?

    Measurements:

    Kitchen: 4.60m x3.35m
    Dining Room: 3.61m x 3.07m

The plumber we used installed the new rads in our open plan area under the windows.

The house is so quick to heat up and the house holds the heat for so long aswell.

    Sung as a bug in a rug.:D

    There are calculators for this.

Factors include area, type of flooring, no. of external walls etc.

Result is requirement in BTU or kW

Then consult output chart for your vertical radiator if it matches or exceeds

Any good plumber or Building services Eng should be able to calculate for you

Hopefully, the whole house will have been initially correctly sized
