Essay Extension

    I've got an essay due on monday morning but I've been ill with the flu for the past 6/7 days and I haven't been able to do anything for it. I didnt even think about looking for an extension because I never thought I'd be sick for so long. I literally haven't been able to get to the library at all..

    Is there any way I can get an extension at this late stage? And I'm starting to get really really worried. :(

    If I cant get an extension does anyone have any advice about what to do?

    Depends on the department. Best bet would be to contact your tutor.

    I was in hospital for 2 weeks last term and missed some exams and labs.

    It depended on the lecturer, one I emailed and he just said to do it when I got back no problem. Another one wanted a medical cert and my surgery report which I thought was weird. Only gave them a medical cert.

    Thanks for the reply. Yeah I thought about emailing my tutor but I don't really have any proof that I've been sick, I didnt go to a doctor or anything, to me it was fairly obvious that I had the flu. I'll email her anyway thanks.

    Out of curiousty (I'm in first year) do you think its possible to write a decent (ie. 55+ grade) history essay by monday? If it turns out that I cant get an extension.

    Absolutely but you'll have to do some very focused reading. If it's 2,000 words then you have nothing to fear.
