Time to get some tyres (205/55 16). I have had Bridgestone Turanza, but they were notably useless when there was snow. Since these new ones will be on for a winter or two I wondered if anyone had tried the Bridgestone A001 All Seasons suggested in a previous thread here. Their wet braking is as good as most, a tad less in the dry and half way between summer and winter in snow. it seems to me that in Ireland the wet performance is important, so these might be runner. Any deals on these?

My mother has had them on a Seat Inca for just over a year and they have worn reasonably well, I would also recommend Nokian All weather +, I have them on for over 6000 miles now and they have worn very well and give great stability in cold and wet conditions.
They are 90 a pc from Oponeo for your size.

I have A001's all round & have had them on over a year now. Wear rate seems fine, great grip in the dry, fantastic in the wet, most impressed with how they are on wet roads. Noise levels were no higher than the Michelin energy tyres they replaced.
I expect they won't last as long as the other tyres since they grip a lot better but after a few surprises where they saved my bacon I think its worth any reduced lifespan.

Meant to say, have not had a chance to give them a winter trial, which is a shame as I was interested in how they would perform.
