What effect does removing EGR/DPF/Swirl Flaps have on emissions for NCT?

I'm thinking of moving to a diesel 159JTDm and possibly buying from the UK.

A lot of owners have drilled the DPF (why?) and completely removed the EGR.
I'm not sure if the JTD 1.9 engine has swirl flaps but these are possibly removed too.

Now I assume all this is to reduce big bills but also to increase performance and along with a remap I've read of people getting nearly 170bhp and 50mpg from a 1.9 daysul. Happy days if true.

However, if I import one with these mods, am I screwed with the NCT emissions test?
