Minimum age for classic Insurance?

Hi folks - I'm aware that most companies view classic cars to be 20 years old or more but I have heard that for certain marques they make exceptions. Can anyone tell of a policy being issued to a hobby/weekend car younger than this?

    Thanks a lot.

It seems to depend on individual circumstances, I know someone who had a 15 year old 911 on a classic policy, but he originaly had 2 other older classics on the policy and tagged the 911 on for something like an extra €50.

First Ireland will insure a 15 year old BMW on a classic policy but only as a second car

Yeah - I've had a few 911's that AXA concours have accepted at 15 - this is an early Boxster that I kinda bought by accident. :-/

    Thanks folks

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

You'll have to check the insurance companies, but generally all Porsches are classified as exotics and as such qualify for classic insurance when aged 15 :)

    Welcome to boards BTW :)
