do you not think you should have known the answers to your own questions before you actually applied for the job ? ? ?

An ad for this appeared on jobs.ie. 2 hours later when I got home and went to apply it had disappeared.

Have you any aviation experience at all OP?

Actually OP can I ask when you applied and when you received a call for interview?

I applied for two other jobs with them a few weeks back and deadline for applying closed yesterday.

The dispatcher is basically the conductor of the orchestra who coordinates everything between the airline operating crew and all the ground services, produces the load plan with the number of passengers, amount of freight, baggage, fuel load, catering preparing the flight plan etc etc.
Every aircraft turnround involves the action and interaction of a number of different people, agencies and companies etc and the dispatcher is the main point of contact between the crew and all of these various departments, they make sure that everybody who needs to attend has attended, everything that needs to be onboard is onboard and all the passenger and their baggage are loaded onboard with minimal fuss and delay. Its quite an interesting job but it can also be quite stressful, its like trying to juggle three tennis balls while at the same time doing four different crosswords, talking on five different telephone calls and answering queries from seven different people. An ability to think on your feet will be a basic requirement of the job, but for the interview it would be worth brushing up your knowledge on the different aircraft types there are, how many people they carry, how much fuel they use, and what sort of weights they operate at. Also find out all you can about Servisair, who they handle, where they're based etc etc.
    Good luck.

I applied the day after the job was added on the Servisair site and still haven't heard anything. Not even an E-mail to confirm that they had received my application.

One of my friends from school is big up in Servisair. He knows I love Aviation and I even asked him about jobs up there before but I haven't heard from him in ages, so hopefully it's just that they are processing applications or something.
