Hi all, I've noticed my car's gear stick(02 Primera) has gone limp in the last 24 hours. I can still change gear but the stick is very wobbily and just doesn't feel right. Is this a cause for concern? I have my NCT next Wednesday, could it fail on this?

You could try rubbing something on it to harden it up.

    Quite possibly the gear linkage.

There was someone here with a link to little tablets you could add to the fuel tank to enhance performance??

    Quite possibly the gear linkage.

Do you know will this cause me to fail my NCT and is it expensive to get fixed?

As long as it's going into gear ok it shouldn't fail.
I'm not familiar with the set up on your car but the linkage itself shouldn't be more than 20.
Fairly simple job if the gearbox is accessible.

Be very careful when you are changing gears.
The wobbly gearstick is the early stages of the gear linkage failing.
If it fails completely you could be stuck in whatever gear it's in, bit annoying when it's 3rd and your in traffic.

Cheers for the advice lads, the car is getting a couple of jobs done on it tomorrow so I'll get this looked at too.
