put new floorboards on an old trailer, just ordinary household t&g boards as it wont be used to carry much weight, mostly firewood.

looking for suggestions for preserving the floor, cheaper the better. trailer will be kept indoors but would like to get as long as possible from it

    thanks

cresote would work but burnt oil is far cheaper, but can be messy.

For all you would need buy the proper product and avoid carcinogenics like burnt engine oil.

An epoxy resin would be the ideal solution. Most can be painted or sprayed on. They are waterproof. They also harden very well and provide great protection to the strength of wood. A call to these guys would sort you out.
