Anyone watching the current series,Ive seen the episodes about Eddie Brennan and Anthony Tohill but tonight's was the best yet about about Damien Fitzhenry,it brought back memories of me as a young lad watching him on TV and been in awe of him, pulling off saves and then going up the other end and firing home bullet like penalties.

That man was some keeper in all fairness to him,he has to be up there as one of the best keeper's of all time.

    A legend of the GAA

Best goalkeeper off the 90's and 00's for me.

    Brendan Cummins a close 2nd.

To be honest I think a lot of these heroes are too 'recent', you feel like you already know a lot about them; I much prefer the earlier series about the lads from the '50s and '60s, but i guess they ran out of those...

I defy anyone from Wexford who watched tonight not to have had goosebumps reliving the relative glory of the 90's-early 2000's. Sure with the way we've gone now, we may as well be reminiscing about the 50's and 60's. It feels that long!

Great keeper in fairness and possibility underrated if you ask me.

Eddie Brennan was another lad that i thought was underrated as a player, there was alot more said about Shefflin and Carey but Brennan was as good in my opinion, great engine and could do wreck if given the right ball.

Himself and Joe Quaid pulled off some unbelievable stops for their respective teams in that 96 final.

I missed it, is there a repeat on at any time or can I find it somewhere on the web to watch? Class player in his day and a true workhorse on the field of play. Definitely one of Kerry's finest players.

Quaid must have a record he must have let in about 15 goals in the championship in 1994 and his poistion on the line for Dooleys free that turned that 94 final, then he pucked it straight to johnny pilkington from the puck out which lead to the 3 goal.

yet he got an allstar:rolleyes: he wasn't in the same class as fitz

Rubbish, he would have walked into any of the KK teams over the last 10 years.

Watched the Gerald McCarthy one last night. It was really sad to see the way he was treated in the end by those Cork hurlers after giving so much to the same cause throughout his entire life.
