    Can anyone show me how to do this Quadratic equation please.

    Solve the equation x²-2x-8=0
    Hence solve the equation (y-3)² -2 (y-3) -8 =0

    x²-2x-8=0
    (x-4)(x+2)=0
    x=4, x=-2

    x = y - 3
    4 = y - 3
    y = -7

    x = y - 3
    -2 = y - 3
    y = -1
