I want to purchase an Old Rustic Type Lantern for an Oak Beam in my kitchen.

I was looking at something like this - I would love to know where I might source a good sturdy quality one?

Also can you get such lanterns now that LED lights also?

    Would appreciate any recommendations thanks

The lantern in that pic is called a "Tilley Lantern".

Us shore anglers/fishemen (myself) use it for shore angling at night time along the coastline.

It runs off of parafin or meths and has a gauze bulb on the inside that fills with fuel vapour to create the light..:)

A few pumps of the lever builds up pressure and you get around 1 hour of light from it.

You will get around 8 hours light from a full tank.:)

You will pick up an battery operated or mains powered LED or CFL version in Ikea,or any good electrical wholesalers.

You will also get them in Homebase and B&Q too.
