    Hello,
I am about to start IT contracting, I will be based in Ireland, but paid by an London company into my Irish limited company business account.

I am gonna use a formation company to set up my limited company. I think I'm ok with that.

But with regards tax/vat, I am a little/a lot confused. Few questions if anyone can help with please

    1) We have agreed a daily rate. Although now I'm confused about VAT. Actually not sure if my rate includes vat. If it does/doesn't should I be charging Irish VAT or English VAT.
    2) With regards to taxation, I will try source an accountant to help with this, but do most of ye contractors, keep any leftover money in your company, or take it all out as a PAYE employee every year. Which is most tax efficient.
    3) I plan to rent a desk in an office in Dublin. Any suggestions?
    4) I will also need to work from home, after hours/ support work. What can I claim as expenses for this work? I own my home.

    Thank you

many thanks for your reply srsly

    2) I will be on quite a high rate, and will not require all as an employee. Is there any other tax efficent ways to use this money?

    3) What other options as i do wish to leave my house during the day to go to an office. I was looking at regus.ie, but as you mentioned it is quite expensive for my needs

    4) I will be living in my own home, can i claim heat, internet, electricity? If i move out and rent a room in shared house and use my room to work from during evenings/night. What proportion of my rent can i claim?

    5) Is there anywhere i can see a list of claimable expenses?

    6) yes i have agreed a sterling rate, and will assume fx risk. I wonder could my company have a uk bank account, or does this complicate matters... or could i set up a sterling bank account in for example BOI?

    Many thanks for your help.
