Hi, I dont want to bump up the thread thats from 2010 above in case the mods might not be too happy:p, but I have the Halfords power pack 100. I have an issue with the charging of it where by when its plugged in the little charge light is always green, but it should be amber until its charged.I also only have the last two lights that monitor the battery charge level, ie. two green, amber and red.

The leaflet that came with it says that you should charge it up every three months if not used much, and not to leave the charge level drop below 10 volts or it might damage the battery.I have checked the charge level through the two cigarette lighter sockets on the pack, but it is about stable at around 13 volts.

I have used the pack on and off for pumping some bike tyres with regular punctures, and when I plugged it in, the charge light was green, so assumed it didnt need charging. But it should have been amber.

Just wondering if anyone else has one of these packs.

It must have come with a mains charger.

Even without the OP stating the above - how else would it ever be recharged?

Ah yes it does have a mains charger, thats where the issue is.When I plug in the mains charger, the charge light lights up green. It should light up amber if the charge level is below a certain amount (actually I think it should light up amber at all times) and the turn green when fully charged.

The two out of four battery level green lights are not coming on at all, only what's coming on is what you see i.e red and amber. The volts in the battery is stable at 13 volts so it seems to be not flat.It can be charged using the cigarette lighter lead as you can see to charge in a car, but I have not tried that, but the lights probably would not come into play by that method though.Sorry about the out of focus pics.Actually the original charger went about a year or so ago, so the present one is a replacement.

Did you get the replacement charger from Halford's or the manufacturer? If not, the output from the new one might be lower (and so take longer to charge the unit). Just an idea.
