This thread is an experiment to allow people to give a heads-up on deals they think are particularly good value (or particularly bad).

If you want to post a deal, you just need two things:
    1) A good description of the deal in the title of the post
    e.g. Groupon Pizza Joe’s, Clontarf D3, 2x2course meals & bottle of wine, €20, ends Fri 29/2/13.
    2) A link (but not a referral link) to the deal in the body of the post.

Please only post really good or bad deals. We don’t want to be buried in re-posts of every deal out there.

So, all posts in BA now go in this thread

would the thread allow discussion of the deals?
One person's "good deal" is another person's "bad deal"

Is supposed to be for discussion of deals?? I thought posting good deals was the whole point of the Bargain Alerts forum.

This is a really bad idea, the way it is now works fine.

    Yes.

No it's intended for Groupon-type deals - not general bargains. The idea is to save us all having to read through those so-and-so deal emails every day.

I was about to post the same link as Snubbleste....

There are just so many of these offers that (imho)people have become tired of them.

The thread will just become a long list of every deal out there as everybody thinks the deal that appeals to them, is the best

I see no sense in posting bad deals

If a deal is that great , start a new thread . If the deal is crap, it will soon disappear off the front page

    Perhaps. What would you suggest?

Mydealpage just filters all deals based on types you're interested in. It doesn't provide any user input as regards quality of the deals. Also it doesn't provide accurate enough location information. For example all Dublin deals are listed as "Dublin". You then have to go to the deal site to check where in Dublin.

A completely unnecessary thread - why would someone post bad deals?

Those deal site are gone to crap.

The same vendors who now use it as part of their regular revenue stream going from site to site.

Living social had some potential when it introduced a shop but that's gone now too.

I personally think this is a good deal if you are learning to drive and you are from Galway/Ennis area

    http://www.livingsocial.com/cities/515-galway/deals/623634-three-one-hour-driving-lessons

Especially handy if you are learner who needs to have 12 lessons before you can take your test
