This coming Easter Dublin clubs CrossGuns and Terry Rodgers will jointly host the biggest amateur snooker event ever seen in Ireland.

With €10,000 in prize money this event is sure to attract the best players out there, however as its handicapped every player will have a chance of collecting a huge winners cheque.

It's another step in the right direction and a sign that Irish snooker is enjoying a revival in fortunes.

The Easter Handicap kicks off tomorrow morning 11am at both clubs. The line up is really a whos who of Irish snooker with all the top amateurs taking on regular club players. Stephen Lee is the only top pro amongst the numbers but ex Irish pros Colm Gilcreest, Davy Morris , Rodney Goggins and Patrick Wallace are all in as is Joe Swail. For the oldies Eugene Hughes and Dessie Sheehan are also entered. Play continues all weekend with the final set for Sun evening.

All are welcome to bith clubs to watch the action unfold.

Steve Lee beat Rodney Goggins 4-2 in the final.
Joe Delaney & Michael Judge were the beaten semi finalists.
Colm Gilcreest had the highest break of 124 missing the blue for a 142.

Lee won €3,800 for his troubles !
