    Lads,

    Always found this forum to be helpful so here goes;

    I am buying a new car and I was looking for peoples opinion's. Am thinking 1.6 Diesel Golf 7, also looking at Kia Ceed, Corolla, Mazda 6, am open to other suggestion.

    Thanks in advance.

    are you planning to buy new?

    Im in similar situation so far ive test drove a Golf, Ceed, Auris - all nice but Golf stands out so far.

    The Seat Leon is being released I think next week so work a spin, as has similar design underneath to the golf.

    Im not mad on french cars so cant comment if you should look at them.

    cool something special about a new car vs 1/2yr old car!

    The found the 1.6 diesel Golf Mark 7 disappointingly underpowered. The 2 litre is extremely expensive. The Kia Ceed is noticably better with that engine but the interior isn't as nice. It's not a bad interior by any means but the Golfs is very impressive indeed.

    The new Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon are due in the next 4-6 weeks and a 2 litre version of both should be considerably cheaper than the Golf as well as being a better engine.

    Saw a black 131 Seat Leon FR (new model) today in Donnybrook; greating looking car. So they seem to be on sale already.

    Looking forward to seeing the new Octavia in the flesh.

    That a typo on the Mazda? The 6 is in a different band altogether to the rest of the cars mentioned.

    Think it was launched yesterday officially. Just built one online and it's good value actually for a nicely specced FR.

    New Focus? Only €700 more than the Kia.

    Lads, still haven't took the plunge, what do ye think of the new Civic 1.6 I-DTEC?

    Engine is supposed to be getting good reviews, the looks of the new Civic are questionable imo but it boils down to personal preference really.

    How long do you plan to keep the car? If you plan on keeping it for a good few years then the length of the warranty might swing it for you, Kia offering the longest in that case.
