Triax magic eye system

    Hi folks.

We have a triax splitter connected to our Sky HD box but we have a problem. I wanted to add another TV to the system, while I have mediocre picture the green light for the magic eye does not light up.

I fiddled about with it and now I no light on the other eyes downstairs. If I move the cable in and out with someone watching the light downstairs it works on the other sets bar one.

I was under the impression that once they were well tightened in they would work fine.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Cheers.

you need a power pass splitter or a special sky eye distribution amp.

Pretty basic advice, but make sure the f-connectors on the cables are fitted correctly & that they stay that way while you are doing up the threads.

If the connectors are the twist-on type & aren't a particularly tight fit on the cable, it's possible to undo them from the cable while tightening the nut. This will withdraw the cable inner from the female connection.

Thats the strange part because I have the connectors on the cable good and tight but its when I tighten them onto the box the light on the eye goes out downstairs.

You may have a short somewhere, check all connections for outer braid touching inner core of cable

I assume it was working before or is it a new install? Make sure the cables are in the right sockets, ie the receiver or input is in the right connection and the outputs to each tv are in the output connections. Don't overtighten, finger tight is good enough.

So the silver stuff should not be touching the copper core..
