Looking for some backup or clone software that will basically copy specific folders to an external drive on a scheduled & incremental basis.

Used to use CCC but that's gone too expensive now.

Free is great, up to €20/€25 is good.

    Suggestions ?

SuperDuper. Sort of free, $27 if you choose to register it. Registering gives you:
scheduling, Smart Update (which saves a lot of time), Sandboxes, scripting and more!

I've been using the free version for years and years, never had any trouble with it!

    Thanks folks.

Decided to go with time machine after all. You can as a second hard drive & it alternates the backups.

It's just to have a second option there.

Next step is to fin something cloud related for photos & home videos.

    Any suggestions ?

Crash Plan is quite good, has free option to backup to your own devices, or paid options to back up to their server
