If he wanted to send you money through paypal, genuinely. All he would need is your email address.

    Scam, scam, scam.

    Scam, scam, scam.

I re-read the OP and he hasn't asked for anything other than his email address.

    Or am I missing something?

    Think about it.
Would you buy anything without seeing it first?
Would you send money by Paypal to anybody without seeing the item in question?
As said before and will be said again, it's a scam end of.

usually, to send money somebody, have to know paypal address, i was sending money to other people, when bought something through other enthusiast forum, but in OP case, I suspect thats scam, as cars nobody take without seeing . Even if that person is genuine buyer, have to send him sticky link with car purchase procedure in Ireland :pac: ( this one )

What happens here is that the buyer will ultimately send you more than asking price and ask you to send back what he over paid. Either his payment will be completely spoofed and never go through PayPal or a stolen credit card / hacked PayPal account will be used. This will be reversed leaving you out of pocket.

When you send the money he "overpaid" to him though it will be gone and not reversed.

I since googled it, and seems it's a common enough scam.

I agree with all your comments, who would buy a car without seeing it.

I'd gladly post his number and email address here..if mods allow?

Below is his email: i deleted his email address incase I get myself some grief.

i am willing to proceed with the transaction now. kindly login to your paypal account and select the request money button located at the top of your paypal account homepage and send the money request directly to my paypal account id which is xxx@yahoo.com so that i can submit payment to you via paypal right now as paypal is safe, fast and easy to send and receive money online.

If you dont have a paypal account just logon to www.paypal.com and set up your paypal account, after setting up your paypal account you locate the request money button located at the top of your paypal account home page, use it to request money directly from my paypal account which is xxxx@yahoo.com once I receive your money request from paypal, I will submit payment to you immediately via paypal asap.

I'll be responsible for the pick-up,my movers pick up company will handle everything, they are international and i prefer them because they offer first class pick up that is not a problem my mover's will schedule an appropriate time for the pick-up at your location, also all required documents will be signed by my pick up company on my behalf...all what you need to know will be done by my movers pick up company.
    Get back asap.

It's a scam and a old one at that,I had it tried on me last year..if you agree you will either be asked to make a payment to PayPal to release the money(ivwas asked for 800)or pp have the money and will release it when they have a security payment to protect again fraud.

I'dgo through with it and have the guards go with the car to arrest him :p waste his time and agree withe him, just never send the car. Stops him focusing on other scams

He doesn't want the car. The best thing to do is just keep asking for cash deposit, ignoring what he says, drives them nuts....

No one is even looking for the car. He's off in Nigeria or somewhere and all he wants is the Paypal transaction to steal your money. The only way to get him is an IP address trace, and that won't be easy unless you get the help of Yahoo, who won't help cause he hasn't done anything wrong yet.
So best way is to annoy the arse of him and lead him down a garden path of more questions and requests.

Simply tell him you have no PayPal or bank account and desk in cash only. Ask him to send the money to his movers and they can pay you. Play him along and waste his time as much as possible.

His IP address is probably in the email header, just have to look at it. How does this scam work anyway, how does he get your money, is it some sort of spoof email he pretends to send from paypal? I assumed the scam was getting the car and not having the money either send to the OP or be returned (it's so easy to get paypal to return money to buyers, not sure about money in that amount), but it's just a money scam then.
