Package of mine is being delivered with DHL from china.
its in Ireland now and says being forwarded for delivery, but this morning I got a text from them saying to call them and pay customs duties via card.Is the package still on the way and can i pay the driver with cash, or are they holding it until i call and pay via card?

Yes its still on the way.

You can pay with cash on delivery to you, or you can ring before it arrives and pay by credit card.

Fair enough getting caught like myself.
But what's the story with admin charge, taking the mick.
    Item value 40
    Vat and duty 9
    Admin charge 10.
    Bit Irish .
    done on the double

eh? It looks like a standard charge by the courier to cover their fees in processing and paying the duty on your behalf

This is normal, in fact the admin price is lower than some other couriers would charge. In future try and get it delivered via normal post, it might not have been charged at all if it came via an post.
