So I'm going for my first round tomorrow, being dragged along really. I've played pitch and putt a few times but that's as far as my knowledge of the game really goes.

Is there any etiquette I should be aware of or anything I should know? Other obviously than try not to stink and allow people to play through.

    There's a decent overview of golfing etiquette on the R & A website. http://www.randa.org/en/Rules-and-Amateur-Status/Etiquette.aspx

    Basically it amounts to:
    - taking care not to damage the course (raking bunkers, fixing divots, repairing pitchmarks, etc.)
    - keeping up with the pace of play (be ready when its your shot, leave your bag / trolly on the side of the green nearest the next tee box when on the green, know the rules around lost balls, etc.)
    - being considerate of others (e.g. turn off your mobile, don't stand in people's line of putt, etc.)

Hope that doesn't sound too daunting. It's not that bad and your playing partners should show you what to do anyway.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot, most important thing is to enjoy your game of golf!
