Non-cotton sports tops and comfortable cycling shorts are the essentials. Cotton retains water and cools you down when you stop pedalling. You can get cold very quickly like this and it is not pleasant. So any sports top will do. Though cycling tops are designed the way they are for very good reasons.

Probably best to get the shorts in your Local Bike shop so you can check the fit. Internet buying can be a bit of a nightmare when it comes to sizing. Also don't get put off if the label on some cloths says a bigger size than you normally fit. Some brands (usually italian) are very small fitting. Then again British and American brands tend to go the other way. My clothes range from Small to Large depending on the brand, when I am probably of medium build.

Pumps and saddle bags can be fitted to all bikes. The bags attach on to the back of the saddle and pumps are mounted on a bracket that is attached where your bottle holder is located.
