    Hi all,

I have been asked to change my job in my workplace to go on 12 hour shifts.I currently work 37.5 hours a week 9 to 5 but I will move to 4*12 hours dayshift followed by 4 days off and followed again by 4*12 hour nightshifts andfour days off to continue like this. It’s an 8 week cycle. Could someone giveme some advice on holiday entitlements. I currently get 22 days a year.

Any other thoughts when reviewing my new contract would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for your help

It depends. I know our place gives full time staff, which you would be 16 days holidays. However it's at the 12 hour rate.
I love the 4 days on 4 days off mechanism when I'm working full time in the summer. Yea it can be crappy working the weekend every now and then but the 4 days off are great. It also works out great for holidays as you only need to take 4 days holidays to get 12 days off.
You should be entitled to a longer break. Our place pays us for our break as well however not sure if that's standard.
