I've been looking to upgrade to a bigger racer as I've grown out of my old one (52cm). I am now 6'2"/6'3" and was wondering what size would suit best. I have been looking around at a few second hand bikes and I am very partial to a 56cm Boardman but I think I could be a bit cramped on it. Should I go for a 58cm or bigger? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm the same height as you and my lapierre is a 58. But if I was to buy again I'd go with a smaller frame and get the saddle up higher.

I'm 6'2" and ride a 58cm Trek. I briefly had a 56cm Boardman and felt a bit cramped on it. But my flexibility is poor, so you may fare better.

    6'2" and 58 for me.

You (most likely) are borderline 56/58, but as we are all different shapes there's no hard and fast rule..........try a few and see what you think. Check your knees dont clip the drop bars when turning, ensure you can reach the hoods while still allowing for a bend in the arms at the elbows etc etc. Shorter/longer stems can be easily swapped in, but if the reach (along the top-tube) to the bars is 'out' you never get comfy on the bike.

Take your time, or regret at your leisure !

    Like me.............next time, I'll be getting a 56

I'm 6ft 2 and have a 58 Fuji. My last bike was a 56 specialised and it was grand with am upgrade to a longer stem. I have a short inseam for my height though.

Try out a few bikes and see what suits.

The recommended size for your height would probably be a 58. You could go for a 56 if you have very good flexibility and want to have a pro looking machine with a big drop from saddle to handlebars and a long stem. Not sure it would be comfortable but sure that will be obvious if you take it for a spin.
