Chaplaincy on Tuesdays is the only one I know of at the moment.

Should not have bought that Trinity Ball ticket!

If possible bring in food for the day. If you're involved in a club or society there might be a microwave you could use. If you're close enough to walk to college, maybe save that bus fare and put it towards something cheap that'll last a few meals like a chicken or pasta. Otherwise, perhaps befriend someone whose eyes are bigger than their stomach!

Drop some bread crumbs near the Hamilton entrance and select the fattest pigeon.

You can eat it raw or cook it in the ambient heat of the Hamilton computer room.

Tesco Fleet street mark down expiring foods in the evening.

Go fishing in the Liffey! The odd trolley might get in the way but I have seen fish in there! Or you could try tcd vdp or the su.
Just don't mention the ball ticket!:D

How much money do you have? A big 10kg bag of spuds and a pound of butter go a long way!

Hey there. I know the SU's Welfare Officer has a box of food in her office for anyone that needs it. You could try pop in there?

Go down to D'Olier St. and give blood, they insist on you having a massive feed after it :)

And if you tell them you haven't eaten in a few hours they'll feed you before hand as well

Just make sure you eat enough Tayto and Bourbon biscuits to keep you going for the next 3 months.

Few places.. you could head down to the Grand Canal and do a spot of fishing. If you're the unfortunate type that doesn't have a cooker, then look up medieval ways to cook a fish. If that sounds like a bit of an effort, got to a pet shop that has fish tanks. Try be inconspicous, as if you get caught, you're robbing and you might upset customers and the like..

Next up, try rummaging through bins, outside restaurants or visiting fast food stops like Mc Donalds and feeding off scraps. You can get a quality meal that was probably just a bit slightly overdone or some nice ol' chips that are just a bit cold but otherwise perfectly o,k.

If all that doesn't seem to be your cup of tae, scout out supermarkets in Dublin that do free samples.. found out when they do them and go from place to place till significantly full. This is what I like to call the gourmet option.
If you're really really desperate, try eat the grass. They say don't walk on it in Trinity, but don't say a thing about eating it

    Happy grazing.

GMB on Wednesdays 'Tea & Toast' 11am -1pm either The Phil or The Hist casual get together weekly

Frequent functions in The Atrium at The Buttery, usually with free sambos et al

For future get a tesco and DUnnes clubcard as even if you dont use they will send you small money vouchers every few months e.g. €1.50 +

Check all the society events emails, usually mentions functions with free food e.g. Amnesty, SVP etc

If things are bad definately talk to Welfare Officer, she can loan you some cash or help with food, also you could contact SVP in your local area/where you're living.

    Hope you're ok OP

oh, if you really want to be creative - lot's of free seminars provide refreshments and or lunch... depends on your area of interests :) and how far you're prepared to go instead of just asking for help... see activelink or similar.

Why not go to The Capuchin Day Centre, 29 Bow Street, Dublin 7.(smithfield, I work near it.)

They provide breakfast and dinner every day for free. 600 plus dinners a day.
Its was originally set up for the homeless but I would say the homeless are a minority now. All walks of life going in there.

On a wednesday they give out free food parcels. Essentially a big blue plastic bag full of food staples. Bread, eggs, milk, jam, cheese etc. Somoe very well dressed people walking away with them. The do 1600 or more every wenesday I think.

I would however go back with a donation when you have money again.
