    Hi guys,
I have been trying to set up port forwarding on my router but it is not working. I configured the firewall rules, etc but they still will not open.
Has anyone here managed to do this?
Sky are telling me that its not their problem because its not a normal residential use.
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Thomas

    look here quick

    http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/content/167-port-forwarding-setting-up-port-forwarding-use-existing-set-up-custom-services.html

    dont forget to click apply.

if it still fails you will need to get another user with same router.

how are you checking the ports to see if they are open?

I've already done most of that and it still didn't open any :/

most of it? which port no are you trying to open? and how are you checking to see if it is in fact open? and if you started to port forward you should delete what you did and start again.

Sorry, dont know why I wrote most. I've tried all of that. I am trying to open port 80,8050,37777,37778. I am using websites like canyouseeme.org, etc.
I have tried deleting and starting again.
I even factory reset the sky hub and it didn't work.
I can't see how there is anything wrong with what I have tried but would really like this resolved.

you will need to do a google or find someone who has actually done ie do a post with name of router.

check your settings carefully BUT it does appear as if port forwarding on this router is not so easy.

You have done all the things I usually do.

out of intererest when you get it resolved post back and say what sorted.

Just got off the phone with sky there and he said to try it again when I'm fully activated. Hopefully that will resolve the issue. I'll let you know :)

I tried to do a port-forward on my hub so I can use uTorrent, but it's a pain in the hole - I just gave up. Let me know if you have any luck.

If I can't get it to work once I'm fully active with Sky I'll threaten to leave and see what happens

So, I've finally resolved the issue and feel like a complete moron now. I never updated the default gateway on the cctv DVR. I did this and now everything works :)

Lads any other things to check for the port forwarding, maybe I'm being too quick off the mark but I can't open any ports.

Also can't RDP to another machine on the LAN for some reason now ??

Make sure the connection between the router and the unit being forwarded to is good. Make sure the correct settings are programmed into the unit as well.

What are you forwarding the ports to?

Nice one for getting back, turns out I had to change the IP of the Server, strange that if the IP is out of range that the router won't let other devices access it?

The default IP range is very narrow from what I can see?

Sorry to drag up an old thread but having trouble port forwarding. Using an android stick to watch sport on wiziwig and tried to open port 8621 to improve acestream. Used youtube video to help, went through all the steps but no joy. Checked using yougetsignal and checkmyports but says its closed.
I think I may be typing in the wrong "Send to LAN Server" number in Inbound Services-Firewall Rules. Not sure what to put here as cant find IP address of android stick,I'm a bit of an amateur at these things so need a bit of help!!

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I'm having trouble also. I try opening the ports 4500. 500 and 50 on my SKY Q hub. But nothing is working.

Need them to enable sure signal from vodafone.

    I've stuck some attachments below.

Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

The first rule of asking for help is to make it easy for people to help you. Your computer has a printscreen function ;)

Understood, was doing it from the phone :)

Here it is from my PC.

Attachment 1 - List of attached devices, 192.168.0.2 is the VF SureSignal Box on the network, Mac Address matches the back of the device.

Attachment 2 - This is where I've assigned 192.168.0.2 as a reserved IP address in the DHCP table

Attachment 3 - This is the list of Services I've setup

Attachment 4 - This is where I've assigned those services to the VF SureSignal box, I've left outbound as ANY and inbound goes to the IP of the VF sureginal

Would really appreciate if you could confirm its the correct procedure and if not where exactly am I going wrong.

EDIT **** just restarted the router and it seems the changes have worked. Back to 100% coverage.
I disabled UPNP so not sure if that had any affect

    Thanks anyway
