I think you'd have to get the back end off another one, not a MF expert, but I think all the square axles have wet brakes.

    Have a look here

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I'll throw in my two cents if they're worth anything. You could get the back end off a later 165 with wet brakes. They used this axle on the 250 which had the same engine as the 135. From this i'm assuming they'll line up together without the need for a spacer

Would the back end of a 165 not be wider than a 135

Now that I think about it you're probably right on that one. I'm only going on what I've heard, but I'm guessing the OP would rather try and retro-fit wet brakes to the tractor than put on a whole new back end

You can't retro fit wet disk brakes into a round axle(dry disk brakes). You need the complete back end from a square axle machine. From what I read on the Net, there were square axle machines sold in the US and Canada, with dry brakes. Highly unlikely to find any over here, I believe. I am sure some Massey expert will be along to set us right. A neighbour has fitted a square axle to his round axle 135 digger, so I will chat him about the exact details.

I think I'll brave to get a decent scrapped back end of an industrial type mf loader something like a 40B and unbolt the axle at the body and bolt them onto my tractor a lot of work I'm giving myself!!! Thanks for the advice much appreciated.

    Did you ask Marley man?
