It gets a little more interesting .... the guy who posted these images on Reddit says he got a message asking him to remove the thread for $1000:
.... And to the very new redditor offering me a bounty to delete this thread - I'll totally do it because cash is cash. But i don't want to die either. So let's do this publicly - I'm posting your message you sent me. And we can meet at the Monarch bar next week - I'll be in town on Monday & will update this thread when I get to Monarch so we can meet.
He's posted a screenshot of the supposed message: http://imgur.com/a/Hshw0#14

You mean image 13, but link is wrong. Yeah good spot it is different! Although TV images can move quickly, it could have been the previous or next image a millisecond apart: http://imgur.com/a/Hshw0#12

Bit mad alright, was reading it on the VC earlier, had a feeling it would pop up here also, could be innocent, could be marketing, could be dodgy as ****.

The guys picture is the thing that sticks out to me the most, why is there a pic of a random CEO in the room like?

There have been a number of reports from people saying they were given the room by mistake and were then moved, if it was seriously dodgy I would imagine security on who actually gets the room would be a lot tighter then that.

Still, we can imagine I guess

Im pretty positive its a marketing ploy.
Alot of artists playing on the CT aspect, no reason to think a Hotel wouldnt try it too.
If it was that high security, the keys would be in a safe for the manager or something.

I thought it might be a CT when I first saw the story.
I then checked the post and saw the poster mention meeting at a Monarch bar(mind control word) which made me think he is taking the piss or advertising.
This morning I see the Monarch bar in question is in ZaZa itself. So must be.
But sure lets bump the thread for anyone who happens to be going to Texas and wants to get the Ct experience :D

I am very tempted to stay in that room, just because it's so bloody kitsch.

But then i'd have to go to Houston, not sure if it's worth the trip.

It's not one photo. It's several photos put together so you can get a panoramic of the room.

Anyone else get the feeling that it's a private little sex dungeon for the rich?

I dont think so is says view from the chair
chair beside the bed in image 10

Im inclined to agree with oracle on the picture (fluke)

and with Torakx on the whole marketing idea

Look at the back wall. It's curved in those wide photos, but not in the closeups. This is the distortion you get when you use panoramic apps to blend photos together that are at sharp angles.

Ok see what you mean now

Would this more or less confirm the marketing ploy then
why would someone who got the room by mistake and just had time to get a few snaps go to so much trouble ?

I'd wager on this too. I'm not so sure a torture dungeon is good PR for a hotel viral :D

Considering it's advertised on their website, at the bargain price of $329 a night, yeah, looks like some pretty clever marketing.

Has it always been there, or has it just appeared recently?

It's the latest in their specials, so presumably it's a recent addition, and it's only available from the 1st of March.

Some might say making it a 'special' is the perfect way to cover up a leak :D The picture of the Elite guy is a bit baffling, what has he got to do with a prison experience?

Could be someone knew that picture would be what made people think conspiracy and spread it online!

If it is just a marketing ploy, they kinda deserve the publicity for the effort. If it's just to cover their sex dungeon being revealed, then the prison theme is a bit rubbish. The haunted room would have been way better.

He also had his laptop all setup in the corner with wires coming out of it.
    Looked fairly settled lol

The picture of the two girls is a bit creepy alright and the Monarch name for the restaurant is a bit below the belt.
Basiclaly making money off peoples experiences with mental trauma and abuse.
Talk about sickos doing anything for money.
Who owns that place? Dick Cheney?

here lets add some fuel to the fire

Reddit user lejefferson uses mad detective skills to uncover the identity of a man in a photo on the wall of a secret hotel room in Houston as an investment banking executive who's company was recently indicted for fraud, potentially uncovering a sex scandal/high society underground sex ring
