Studying a course in DIT, (2 years) and want to go somewhere else for the second year so just want to know people's thaughts on WIT, social scene etc, mading friends. Would be living on campus as I can't be dealing with travling everyday.

Everybody you will ask has a different opinion. Nightlife is improving and they do good deals for students. Making friends should be relatively easy in class - join clubs & societies, that should help. The college itself is grand, depending a bit on the campus and course you are doing. There is a bar on campus, a few different choices for food, and a Spar shop. The IT building does the trick, wireless is dodgy but seems to be improving.

I wouldn't be going with on campus accommodation though. Rent a house nearby the college.
