We are thinking of booking blue moose for our wedding, has anyone seen them at a wedding? And if so what was there set like.

They are very good. Wasn't at a wedding but a great band.

Seen them a few times and was at a gig where they were playing in galway last night and i agree with you 100%. My main worry is the start of the gig where you will have the older generation and trying to suit them. I would be booking them straight away, trouble is I have to persuade the misses.

IMO not a wedding band more your college/night club/pub bands

Not taking away from them they are a class band, great singer.

Just not suitable as a previous poster says, you want someone for all ages and to play everything

I know what ya mean. You wouldn't be able to recommend a band by any chance;)

We were chatting to them and they said they could play older stuff to suit but wouldn't mind seeing them first which won't be for a while. Will prob have to look else where.

unless you specifically want cheesey waltzy stuff, you will not go wrong with blue moose. one of the top cover bands in the country.

if you have the opportunity to book them, do. For any of the real cheesey stuff you want, get the DJ to play. very few other bands would make up for what blue moose do in the rest of their set.

Have to agree, we've gone with 2 bands very similar to blue moose, both 3 piece but joining together -1 drummer for our wedding.
They're playing what we want at our wedding, not what my mother would like to be able to jive to :D 100 younger to 20 older (50+) is our approx wedding mix.
I've been too too many cheesy weddings where the 100 younger don't go near the dance floor until the Dj comes on so won't be happening at my own :)

@dubliner the wedding is in Galway next year. Doubt a band would turn up from Tipp but will keep them in mind. Cant seem to find much info on them though.

I wouldnt be a man for the waltzy stuff and like yee both said its more the parents that would be looking for that stuff and suiting who they would invite.

So I take it niallam that you have gone for the alternate style. Do you mind me asking what you have asked the band to play.

We got a suggested playlist from Bluemoose and ill just paste it.....
    Possible First Dance Songs:
    Always - Bon Jovi
Is This love - White Snake
    Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing - Aerosmith
Man That Can’t Be Moved – The Script
    Purple Rain - Prince
    One - U2
    A Set of 3-4 Waltzes:
    Various Songs
    Floor Fillers:
Call Me Al - Paul Simon
    Summer 69 - Bryan Adams
Long Train Running - Doobie Brothers
Bon Jovi Medley - Various Songs
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard
Video Killed the Radio Star – Buggles
Beat It/Smooth Criminal – Michael Jackson
    Funky Music – Wild Cherry
    Superstition – Stevie Wonder
    Pop Hits:
    Mr. Brightside - The Killers

The band (s) I got are learning about 3 songs for us for first few songs, passenger - let her go, Jason mraz - I won't give up and can't remember the other one :D just slow songs we like at the moment :)
After that we'll have a bit if everything same as what you have said. They're going to throw in a few oldies for the older ones, red rose cafe etc etc. Apart from that mostly modern sort of rock mixed with 90's and before. We're even going with a few good heavy enough tracks, ozzy - paranoid, ac/dc - Rosie.
Plenty of guitar solos and fit in a drum solo towards the end, you'll be amazed at the reaction a drum solo will get

Do it just before the last song and have a brilliant last song then :)

Maybe I'm just more of a rocker than most but I want all the younger crowd up dancing all night, and I know all my friends and that's what will get them all up.
My mother will complain like she did at my brothers wedding but can't keep everyone happy :D
