Girlfriend is looking to replace her 2005 Peugeot 308. She wants to go at least 2008 for new tax system and nothing that costs more than 10,000. Trade in preferred in the Cork area or slightly outside. I must check her annual mileage but prob around the 10-12k mark so on the fence for whether a diesel would be worth it (especially with the reliability problems with newer diesels).

Focus/Golf/Civic/Almera have been ruled out as she doesn't like the look or image of any of them. Fiat also ruled out as she used to have one and had awful reliability. She'd consider getting another 308 as its been pretty reliable to date. Was reading up on the Auris - engines seems to be gutless with poor consumption.

Was thinking of a Seat Leon. Any one have any experience with these?

I don't know much about any of the Korean stuff - worth a look?

Yes the Korean stuff are definatly worth a look. A Hyundai I30 or Kia Cee'd are great cars and are very reliable.

Or even a Kia Pro Cee'd here's an example for you http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/4613307
