I have a choice between either Economics or Geography for my second year of MH101

Is anybody doing (Or have they DONE) 2nd and 3rd year Economics, and what did they think of it?

Looking at the modules, they dont seem like a lot of fun, especially to a not-incredibly-gifted-at-maths person such as myself.

    Thanks in advance

Yeah I did the 2nd and 3rd year Economics. I did it via the Finance course so your options might be different. I enjoyed it although macro economics can be tough and if you dont like maths there is a quantative analysis module in 2nd year and econometrics modules in 3rd year which are compulsory (well they were for me).

However the Macroeconomic modules are very interesting and will explain a lot of economic terms. And some of the optional modules are fascinating I did Public Economics (Interesting module) Money and Banking (Very Interesting) and Personnel Economics (Ok prefered other two) for 2nd year and Competition and Regulation (Interesting), International Trade (Parts of it are theory which can be boring and Policy which is a lot better) and Labour Economics (Enjoyable) for 3rd year. You have a thesis to do as well.

In reality pick which subject you are better at and have the most interest in but economics is interesting.

If you want to pm me any specific questions then do! Currently a second year MH101 student in Economics and Geography :) I'm brutal at maths, which looking back on it, Economics probably shouldn't have been the best idea but it's working out good maths wise (statistics is about as far as it gets from the basics)

Youve plenty of time to choose anyways!
Maybe wait till you get your results to see which youre better at?

I do both economics and geography (a minor in geography) - I personally feel that it is easier to get marks in economics.

In second year your opinion becomes more important. The math does get harder, but its not too difficult. I am not a math person but Im doing just fine.

As long as you go to most lectures its fine.
