I thought it might be useful to add a thread with useful links for those investigating VOIP.

This site, which I only came across today (don't know how I missed it, and is probably old hat to most reading here) is very comprehensive

I was surprised at the number of providers I was not aware of which that site threw up .....

    It has lists worldwide.

Mr Grumpy .... noting Freespeech in you list not issuing 076 numbers ... I have a couple of numbers from them from a long time ago and they still work apparently. Just as a matter of interest ;)

Have you checked to see if yours work?

    Yes ...

    076xxxxxxx@freespeech.ie

    works from a SIP device.

It appears it is out of service for dialling from a landline -- I had no need to check that until you asked.

The fact that the number is still active as a SIP number is a a bit of a surprise so.
