Is there any merit in starting an AH "Lotto"?? Every "member"(there's a few) sticks in €2, a draw gets held(we can pick someone we trust, frankly Whoops is about the only one I can think of, Mickey would blow it on coke and hookers) and one lucky Boardsie is €€€ in profit. Then we do it again. It could be a monthly/weekly/annual/bicentennial thing and 10% could go to charity. I nominate Crumlins Childrens hospital as they're good people.. Whatcher reckon?. Anyone whinging about licences/gambling/morals/poverty can give pics or GTFO. There may be rational objections, but I for one can't see any. I'd love to see one Boardsies face light up each week, and petrols gone expensive, so this is second best.

ed; ohh, soo yer all so rich this is beneath ye....ok, alter it so's everyone just sends me €2every week. I'll spend it wisely..

Lottos are just there to tax the fools.

Why not give 100% to charity?

If we give 100% to charity, there'd be no prize

Just made the account this month?
    Want money from us?

Not a scam at all, no, not at all.

On a serious note, I think at least one forum did something like this and it turned out fine but you'd really best be knowing the people and trust them very well

    What's Dorrar?

Dunno but google images gave me this

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Jaysus, you'd trust Whoopsa with it? You've obviously never drank with her, she'd drink for days with that :pac:

I was sort of being serious:( Times are hard for a lot of people, a few bob of a windfall would probably bail a lot of people out of a hole/be nice/save their azzes, so why not a Boards.ie windfall? I presume their might be some guff about needing a licence...snoorezzes..and stuff like that, but shure what harm? No-one(ok, someone will come on saying they would) would miss €2, and a few thousand in at €2 adds up pretty quick. Have a draw, based on usernames(that are paid in), send them the Dorrars. Simples. I'm in, for one, if it's a runner. :)

Have you thought this through? Who would do the draw? I demand witnesses!

I support your idea *in theory*

Have your people get back to my people when you've ironed out the details ;)

Ok, so we've ruled out sensormatic as treasurer, that's a small step forward. Whoopsa has also been revealed as unlikly to be trusted due to a propensity to prop up the share value of Diageo and micky Dolenz is just too "of the night" to be allowed anywhere near it. This is starting to seem too much like hard work. Might be easier to join the Neighbourhood watch, or chew off my own arm. I think I'll go for the arm, first..

Bitterness is a terrible ill Whoops. You are hereby re-instated as treasurer. Congratulations. It's your baby now..:):eek:

you could do something like this

Pay your 2euro. you are given 6 numbers (or however many numbers it is to play lotto. I haven't a clue) . On the next lotto jackpot draw whoever has the most numbers matching wins. In the event of a tie it is divided out or picked at randum

No need for witnesses or anything then!

only problem then is the money has to rest in someones account. I nomonate me ;)
