    Furious with that result.

Price has a seriously poor punch resistance, has it become better than it was in the amateurs where he was stopped numerous times? No it hasn't.

He could very well do a Wlad on it (who has a glass chin himself) and learn to be uber cautious protecting his chin at all times, but time isn't on his side either, he is 30 this year.

Fury will be laughing his head off

Not a clean shot but his head does get a good shake from it. 14 seconds or 24 seconds gives a good view. Still, hardly a massive shot. British title is as good as he gets now

Edit: Can he adopt a Wlad style defence? He has the power to cause problems but at 28 he's a bit old to still be talked of as a "Prospect" so how much can he improve? Does he have it in him to keep people off with that huge reach?

Anywhere to see a replay of this? Disaster for price.

Edit; thank you for the above.

is anyone listening to the phone in on boxnation? its incredible stuff, Steve Bunce is absolutely ridiculous

    Reckons Thompson's punch was murderous!

Doing all they can to re inflate him full of hype.

If I hear them compare him to Lennox Lewis again i'll scream :D

There didn't really look to be much in that shot at all and it wasn't clean. He's fairly limited if he can't stand up to that

Shots to the back of the ear can do that though. I wouldn't write him off completely yet, he will still be a very dangerous fighter for anyone in the division to meet but like Amir Khan will always be vulnerable.

They're saying that Price has a perforated eardrum which will affect anyone's balance. I know first hand what ear damage can do to a person, so I still reserve judgement on Price until I see him take a good shot to the chin.

He's been shakey getting hit since he was an amateur - trying to say it's just because of an injury is a Don King-ism at its best because it's not an isolated event.

Anyone who ridiculed David Haye for blaming his performance against Vlad on an injured toe should do likewise to Price now.

Price has weak punch resistance. Moving on.

Price just crumbled under his first real test. A 41 year old Tony Thompson.

He needs to reinvent himself and fast. Saying that, he has the physique and power to keep guys off him ala Wlad. The chin is a huge worry though, has been since his amateur days.

But there have been other heavyweights with suspect chins who have won heavyweight titles. Price needs to get a move on though, he is 30 years old this year I think.

Fair enough, I didn't see any of him as an amateur. Just followed his pro career from the start so this is a big disappointment,

Made a few quid off this. Always nice to see the British hypejobs getting exposed.

Thomson wasn't even vaguely in shape and dealt with Price with ease. Thomson was dangerously underrated, he gave Wlad a lot of trouble in the initial rounds of both fights.

looks like another Khan ,punch looked more like a cuff round the ear to me and thrown as an after thought

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,396 ✭✭✭✭Frank Bullitt

That punch looked like nothing but it leveled him, his chin must really be very soft if that can cause him trouble.

And to think he wanted one of the brothers this year!

Wlad would genuinely have KO'd him with a jab.
