So, i've just seen a picture of Jamie Bulgers killers, Robert Thompson and John Venables, on facebook. What do people think of this? Do they have a right to anonymity? I'm in two minds about this, their crime was horrendous, but they were only 10 at the time, they have served their time and hopefully been rehabilitated. I dont think their pics should be public, but i can understand peoples desire to know what they look like. It wont do anygood though, and could lead to some mob justice.

Yea, as grown men. Taken within the last few years. You would easily recognise them from them. I'm sure everyone with a Facebook account will see them sooner rather than later.

Thought that myself...I read when one of them was released he got a right to anonymity and he changed his name..

The police are trying to stop this pic circling the Internet as it will uncover the real identity of Jon Venables (top) & Robert Thompson (bottom) who kidnaped a 2 year old boy from his mother in a shopping center and brutally murderd him... If you're talking about a photo of them together looking like alcoholics... That isn't them. Thompson has dropped off the radar.

However Venables keeps disclosing his identity, looking at child porn and hanging around liverpool. Recent photos are widely circulated & you'll find them (and his most recent identity) on google easily enough.

I saw the picture you're talking about OP and imo, It's a dangerous thing to be posting on Facebook or any other site. These could just be random innocent people who bear a slight resemblence to Thompson and Venables. Might not be them at all.

There have been a couple of cases of violence due to mistaken identity against innocent people, one woman was attacked after she was mistaken for Maxine Carr and another man was attacked after being mistaken for John Venables.

The pics of Venables where he's working in a well known restaurant in the North West are, I'm fairly reliably informed, valid. That's not the same pic on facebook that this thread is about. A quick search will find it for you.

Thompson has completely gone off the radar. I don't think anyone really knows anything about him and I'd imagne the pic is bullsheet.

I don't think it's either of them in that picture. The person who was supposedly Thompson was meant to be living in Ireland a few years ago but I thought it was proved t wasn't him?
