On the way to the mart this morning I was listening to Countrywide on RTE Radio 1. Be ware of that Bernie Wright, she is one of those squeaky wheel, persistent letter to the editor/whoever will put her on media writing animal rights types. She was complaining about the live export trade this morning.

Country wide is probably podcast on RTEs website, I don't have a link at the moment.

These types of people are something to be aware of, it's very easy to dismiss them but they're fleas in policy makers ears.

I think it was her I heard on the farming programme again this morning. She also has a letter in the Examiner that reads:

    Vegan solution
    Friday, April 19, 2013
I refer to the situation where innocent sheep are reared by farmers as food for profit.
The farmers are quick to condemn dogs which, due to uncaring people, are allowed roam and attack these sheep.

Not much is said about farmers who allow sheep and lambs to roam out on to public roads, which constitutes a serious public liability situation. In Blessington last Sunday three lambs were dead from traffic accidents. The only solution is for people to adopt a vegan lifestyle and for farmers to supply plant–based products instead of dead flesh to consumers.

The real solution is to take vehicles off people who cant drive them responsibly and who write sh1te for papers which increase the demolition of the forests :)

Don't buy papers which print that type of sh1t. Simple really!
Irish independent wrote pure diatribe nonsense against the Ger Loughnane, led Clare hurling team of the nineties .
Folks in Clare responded by leaving the Indo rag on the shelves in increasing numbers .
That soon changed the approach of the sports editor to Clare hurling.

Papers don't care for truth, accuracy or balance. It's the sensationalist headline and diatribe that sells their rags.

    Vegan my arse!!

There's little point in preaching to the choir. It won't be people using this forum buying into that nonsense.

It is something to be aware of, and shouldn't be dismissed out of hand.

I wouldn't worry too much about the likes of her. She is preaching to mainly her own choir.
I'd like to see her grow vegetables on the side of the Wicklow or Blackstairs mountains.

Its terrible to listen to that crap
How many of her supporters and those who sign stupid petitions don't wear shoes ,use leather seats etc.

My answer to the likes of your one is to ask here where her eyes are in her head in response to a similar jibe..

The answer was simple,, they are in front of my face.. I said exactly where the should be for a carnivore/hunter..

Where are cows, horses and sheeps hear... on the side so the can see the carnivore hunters comings.. Look at birds of prey vs the preyed upon..same with fish.

In other words, nature has built us this way to eat meat and kill our dinner. Farming for profit is as old as man, (6000 years if you are a rapid christian!) the profit may be cash or tradeable goods.

When our eyes evolved to beside our ears, then I will eat vegatables only.

What about ripping a carrot out of its home in the ground by the hair , skinning it alive and lobbing it into boiling water ? They have feelings too like

Why did the vegan cross the road?
Because she was protesting for the chicken!

How does a vegan keep milk fresh?
She leaves it in the cow!

As the carrot said to the penis. And the penis replied " no worse than having a plastic bag pulled over your head, and made do push ups till you get sick".

I wonder do vegans breast feed their babys? Would that be classed as animal based food?

Q: How many vegans does it take to change a light bulb?
A: None. Everybody knows they can't change anything.

Look at these dudes promoting themselves on facebook
ARAN (Animal Rights Action Network) ·

***If Only This Little Fellow Could Talk***

The second shipment of Irish cows is apparently this week - we are fighting hard to ensure it's the last, and for good reason. We are asking you to please get behind the Irish campaign. The suffering these poor animal will endure during shipment is one thing, but upon arrival and at the slaughterhouse in Libya is unimaginable. If you cannot attend our rally on April 24, Department of Agriculture, Kildare Street at 12noon sharp to 2pm in Dublin - send a donation and enable us to fight this horrendously cruel trade.

PLEASE: Don't Look Away and Leave it to Someone Else, Help!

    Three ways to donate

    1) Log onto www.ARAN.ie and click 'Donate Now' and make a credit card donation.

    2) Contact us for mailing address to send a check or money order.

    3) Set up a standing order for any amount you can comfortably afford. Bank of Ireland, Account name: ARAN, Account number: 82349387, Sort Code: 90-44-99.

Remember, ARAN does not have staff costs or high administration charges and overheads. Your donation will be spent and invested wisely in our efforts to stop this nightmare.

    Thank you,

    ARAN
    'Fighting animal abuse across Ireland'

They don't have staff costs or administration expenses, so obviously someone is donating all of their time to promote the cause and living off the donations. Also, they are telling people that we're exporting ship loads of cows!

I'll bet someone is making a handsome untaxable living out of this crap!!
