New frame choice

I'm currently looking around for a new frame, and I've looked at some of the ex pro team bikes you can get. Whats the difference between these carbon frames and the other carbon roadbike frames. Are they of better quality or do they have completely different geometry that gives for a harsher ride or what? While I mainly cycle for fitness and to take part in sportives, no competitive racing, I do however intend to compete in triathlons now that I have finally learnt to swim! Any advice/thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.

Some ex pro frames can be quite aggressively sized geometry wise if they were actual race bikes...
    Training bikes less so...
And AlL will have zero spare steerer tube...I.e cut to the minimum on the forks so you need to choose a size wisely...
