Driving to Dublin Airport.

Hi all. I usually get the bus to Dublin airport and I'm driving myself for the first time up to the airport Red Carpark.
From memory of being a passenger, there is often roadworks everywhere with diversions in place.

Just curious as to what the situation on the M50 and M1 with roadworks is. Any exits closed or diversions in place? Usually its a nightmare with the never-ending construction work.

Straight run from Red Cow to M1 and into the Airport? Or will I be lead all over the place. Also how is traffic usually at 7:30am on a Sunday morning?

AA roadwatch seems to think so. What'dya reckon?

Traffic at 7.30 will be very very quiet, and if aa roadwatch have no roadworks up you should be safe enough. Make sure to give yourself a good bit of time to get the bus (which might not be that frequent, can't remember if it was blue or red someone was saying had infrequent buses, check daa) from the car park to the terminal.

Small roadworks on the Swords road right no but at that time of the day no issue.

Yes there are roadworks along this stretch and have been for years. However they are rarely responsible for any major delays. At 7.30am on a Sunday there will be no problem.

You should be fine. Even though there are roadworks, I've never been held up there. My only gripe is that you can't turn right in to the Red car park if you exit the M50 and take the R132 option on your map (runs along the side of the airport runway), so the route you highlight is currently the best option.

The bus from the Red Car Park is frequent enough, every 15-20 minutes I think. I've never had much delay with the Red car park. Usually safe enough building in an extra 30 minutes to your timings for the Red one (or make it 40 if you are of anxious disposition before travelling).

I think it is the Blue Car Park that only has buses every 30 mins or it takes longer to get to the airport from there...
