What window coverings to go for?

    Hi,

We're moving house soon and need to choose window coverings so as to give a good balance between privacy and light.

Net curtains allow in enough light and you can't see in through them (until it's dark and there's a light on indoors), but IMO they look horrible - I know not all are frilly and chintzy but even plain ones look like something from a convent.

Blinds would be an obvious solution but the ones I've seen tend to block out a lot of light, and when you raise them, anyone walking past the window can easily look in and see the unmade bed! :o

Any suggestions? Are there any "hybrid" type options, such as blinds that leave good light through? Or net curtains that don't look like they belong in Hyacinth Bouquet's house?

Get a wide slat blind (50mm) and you will have plenty of light and still have privicy too.

Thats what I did...had the house fitted out with Luxaflex 50mm pecan blinds.

    Very happy indeed.:)
