My son will have completed his ecce year this June but will only be 4yrs and 3months in September and so because of his young age and also he has low communication skills (is attending a speech therapist who suggested he take another year before attending primary school) he won't be admitted to any of the national schools - I don't want him to regress (is that the right word?) by having an empty year with no schooling but I know for a fact that I can't afford the creche fee's so is there any social funding in place for a second ECCE year in these circumstances?
