Am I alone in feeling like I've lost a loved one after selling a car?

Sold my motor this evening to what I hope will be a good home for her.
Been with me for five years and served me well.

    I'll miss that coupe.

Anyone else feel the same way after selling a car?

Late friend of mine always said that it was better to be sorry for selling than for not selling ;)

As long as you can replace her with something at least as good, if not better, the pain will dissipate.Trust me!

    2006 E46 to a 2008 E60. Think it's a sign that I'm getting old.

    320CD to a 520D.

Need both the space and the economy.

Yep. Not the most exciting car but had a VW bora about 5 years ago that I regret selling out of the family. Sold it on for a low price at the time (the econmoy had just crashed). It was super reliable and cheap to run. Would have done my dad or brother perfectly but they had other cars at the time that turned out to be sh!te.

Ah here it's a car not a dog.

    Beats buyers remorse anyway!

I usually regret seeing the ones I put effort into go. It really annoys me to see a car I brought back to life, being driven by some ape who is just driving it into the ground, not giving a toss. I often wonder why do I even bother :(

Much easier to dismantle them and scrap them myself. There, I don't have to watch someone ruin my once pride and joy :)

Top of the range 530i sport auto with every extra, I will always miss that car. Shouldnt have sold it, replaced it with 1.6 Alfa which was a nice car, but nowhere near a nice e39

I feel your pain OP. Putting my car up on donedeal this Saturday after a good clean and I know i'll miss it!

On the plus side I am collecting my new motor tomorrow, e46 318ci which is big upgrade for me so should lessen the pain!:)

But ya, had my current one for 4 years, many good memories!:(

Have to say I was very impressed with Donedeal. I advertised my e46 320CD on Saturday afternoon and had a deposit in hand within 24 hours.

I'm feeling that way and my car isn't technically sold yet! Had a lad look at it out of the blue yesterday and the money offered was so good I couldn't say no to be honest. Been thinking bout it all day today, I've a feeling I'll regret it when I see it being driven away Sunday. Don't know what to replace it with either!

    That's the only 2006 E46 i've ever seen. :)

    That's the only 2006 E46 i've ever seen. :)

Coupe/convertible e46 were available til 2006, even though the e46 saloon production was stopped 1 year earlier.
Always the case when a new model comes out, you see the same thing with hatchbacks.
They are always available until the next one comes out since coupes and convertibles are never available right at the beginning of the production of a new model.

Sold an isuzu mu (Japanese yoke with the 3.1 engine) about 3 years ago, saw it sitting up while I was home at Christmas. Shame to see it idle, it was a beast of a work horse.
