got a bianchi from nigels a couple of years ago, afaik the bikes are priced ok, decent selection of brands, but everything else is a bit pricey. Not sure about westside cycles never been there. Best advice id say is to have a look at both, and btw prepare for wallet shock with some of the bikes! :pac:
kearney cycles is another one, its out by terryland think they sell trek's there.

Moved to Cycling so you can get help with finding out what the best bike for you would be, and where to get it.

Kearny cycles is another one to look at. Best thing to do is to shop around for a bike you like in each shop and see what they can do for you discount wise or what else they are willing to throw in for a few more bob :) Shoes, jerseys, bib/shorts, multi tools, tubes etc.. These are things you are going to want further down the line so it will be best to see what kind of discount you can get on them when you are buying a bike from them as well

I bought a bike from Nigels 2 years ago and was very happy with the service there.
A lot of the staff race themselves and are very knowledgeable.
They even went out of their way to help afterwards, when I broke a chain outside the shop about quarter past 6, they were already locked up and heading home, but Nigel opened the shop and fitted a new chain on the spot. Couldn't ask for more... :)

I've bought a few bits and pieces from Kearneys as well and he seems good to deal with. Seems to be more focused on the kids bikes and commuting side of things though...

    What's your budget?
There's a place near Galway Cathedral, down by the college rowing club.
Guy seems very nice and reasonable. not sure if they have much stock or expensive ones.

It'd be Nigel's if it was my money, or out to the lads on MBW in Moycullen.

Got a decent road bike from Kearneys. Might have spent more, but he was good at explaining why another 600€ wasn't going to do much for my cycling. Good after-sales service.

For a really good roadbike I'd concentrate on Nigels but only if I really knew what I wanted. Kearneys will have a better selection of mid-priced bikes but he can be a bit cranky to deal with. Give Garry in MBW a call and see if he can help you - I spend most of my money out there and find them great but its a bit MTB oriented.

I was checking out road bikes last year and initially concentrated on Kearney's for Trek and Cube and Nigels for Felt and Lapierre. My budget was approx. €2k. I eventually narrowed my selection to Cube and Lapierre range. Kearney's offering was unbeatable nationally, in the Cube model that I was interested in, found him very accommodating and helpful. Nigel's prices were approx. 20% higher on the Lapierre model with identical spec and components than Marrey Bikes in Ballinrobe. Prices appear to be absolutely fixed at Nigel's with no room for discussion on a discount etc. Given the relative proximity to their competitors, offering same models at 80% of their asking price, I found this quite extraordinary. Nigel's appear have a great reputation in Galway, carry a very good selection of bikes and the staff very helpful. Hope this helps.

Make your way out to Tribikes in Loughrea

The lads also have a bike superstore in Limerick and I have yet to see them beaten on price

Most of the lads in our club have purchased from them on the BTW scheme

They do an own brand bike that looks sweet , I think its called a Turas RR1, but can also get you Giant , Bianchi etc

If you're spending big money look outside Galway, Cyclesuperstore etc.
