hi anyone use a fan on their stove? my boiler stove gives out 4kw rest goes to the rads. would a fan increase the heat in the room?

I have a fan on my clear-view stove, it moves the heat around the room faster when the stove is heating up first but i don't think it actually creates any more heat. The room will heat up to the same level after the hot air naturally rises and moves around the room.
€110 paid for mine would have bought a lot of fuel

    The Stove Man,

May I inquire which Clear View stove you have and if you are happy with it???? Is it an insert or stand alone????

I intend to buy a non boiler Vision 500 in the summer as a room heater so trying to gather peoples real life experience with them. 'What Stove' website rates them very highly.

Hope its keeping you warm on these chilly evenings!!!!!!!

    Cheers,

We have a fan on our stove.

When we get the fire going and throw in a bit of coal and then turn on the fan for 20 mins, it really heats up the room far far faster than would be the case if we did not have the fan.

Our fan stopped working a few weeks ago (fuse went) and we noticed a big difference in getting the room heated when it was not working.

Each to their own, but I would very much recommend having the option of a fan.

I have a pioneer 400 and it is in my opinion the best stove available

I have fitted a good few vision 500 and they are great stoves, however make sure the room is big as the heat out of them is serious anywhere from 6 - 10 kw output usual. My neighbor has one and he heats 3 rooms with it and thinks a 400 would have been sufficient.
I fitted one last week in a room 8 meters x 10 meters x 4 meter high ceilings and it heats the room easily.
Expensive though anywhere from €1600 and upwards!! but you get what you pay for with stoves
Have a look at inis stoves also, good quality, irish made and a little better priced.

    Fair Play The Stove Man,

Appreciate your reply........ Room I will be fitting it in is the living room which is open plan to the kitchen / sun room so it is quite a large area.

Yea I know they are expensive but once I fit it, I hope never have to remove it again for 20+ years.

    Thanks for replying.
